I think blush is the most likely cause. Another possibility is if you worked the epoxy too much or captured the epoxy as you worked it off the edge and then reused it it may have air bubbles in it. Unlike blush you can see the air bubble milkiness when you are putting it on but many people do not notice it. If that is the case I would probably just live with it.
