Hi Jack,
Before you skin it, provide lines looped to allow you to pull the float bags to the ends, MUCH easier than trying to either rig it after it's skinned or trying to stuff the bags up in the ends after the cover is on.
Otherwise they work fine, need to be pulled out to allow the ends of the boat to dry completely on occasion (couple times a season if you don't dump the boat)
I've always used commercial float bags, no idea of the brand it's been years since I bought any, but Tom Yost on his site has plans and directions for making your own.
