Jack,
I put a "rivnut" into the aluminum brackets, then screwed down the floor boards.
That way you can take them out with a screwdriver, and the boards do not move.
Actually I placed the board on the brackets, drilled thru one end, put in the rivnut (you have to open up the hole drilled initially), inserted that screw, then drilled the other end, etc.
