Here is an idea used on roller furling jib covers for sailboats. Start with an over sized tube roughly the shape of kayak. Closed on at the bown end and draw string on the other. Sew two flaps about 2 " wide down the length about 9 - 10" apart. Install groments in pairs along the length of the flap. Then run a light line back and forth thru the groments just like lacing up shoes. Put the boat in the sock, pull the laces tight and tie a bow. Then store the lace ends in the open end and pull the draw string tight to seal the back. You could get fancy and use zippers to seal the bag or put a tapered aft end if you want. As long as the lacing is tight, the flapping and dreg should be minimized. Sorry no pics as everything is is off for winter storage.
