I'd just roll it on, I've had little luck pushing epoxy around with a squeegee.

You are trying to flatten the surface when you wet sand, I use 220 or 180 depending on who's sanding paper I'm using. Keep a rubber window washing squeegee to remove the water to check how the sanding is going, a whole lot faster than having to wait for it to dry. Use a sanding block when you're sanding, you'll create more problems without one than you'd save in time. I like fairly stiff rubber sanding blocks, they conform to the rounded surface better. Look at auto body supply places for supplies, car bodies have similar rounded shapes and they have the tools the body shop guys use.
