I cut out a football shape piece of fiberglass to lay on the bottom for extra support on my kayak. when I was spreading the epoxy all the ends of the fiberglass frayed and now I have fiberglass fibers laying all over the edge. I went to pull them and it just made things worse.is this something that can be sanded down smooth? did I do something wrong ? will they disappear when I put another coat of epoxy on.

any comments on the subject?
