On Tom's designs I have just changed the profile of the fore deck, other than a slight windage difference there is nothing that will change the underwater design doing that.

Easy enough with battens to mock up the deck shape, specially with fuselage construction just make the plywood frames from the gunwale down and then after the profile is found that works for the deck, the deck frames can be joined at the joint at the gunwale fairly easily, might add an ounce or two of weight, nothing big.
