I was out paddling that day about a mile from the site of this alleged incident. The air was 81 and the water was 45. I was the only one out there with a dry suit on. There was a stiff breeze blowing from the north and I didn't stay out long. I saw a lot of people with no pfd's or any semblance of cold water gear.
It'll be interesting to see what the real facts are in this case. There is a lot of speculation.
