Thinking about using walnut along the sides with basswood or white cedar for the deck. Has anyone done a boat with a fair amount of hardwood. I watched Nicks videos when he made a full hardwood book matched boat. I suspect with walnut for the sides only, it would be 42-45 lbs, which wouldn't be too bad. I can still hoist that onto the car. Once in the water, it wouldn't matter much, would it? I'm not racing anywhere.

Appreciate your thoughts.
