It can't cost you much more to try to fix it.
If you give it away it cost you an entire kayak.
If you fix it and it looks less than pretty, you can keep it for a loaner (they shouldn't complain) or just paint it.
Then there is a perfectly good kayak just painted.

Either way if you fix it you keep some of the value, and as others said, you don't sucker someone else.
I had a sister in law who won a horse at a rodeo.
Then she found it need about $1000 in vet bills, and still proceeded to kick everyone it came near.
You can imagine what she thought about those people. And what she said about them.

Personally I would crush it before I gave it to a charity. You won't loose any less.

Cut off the nose and mount it like a moose head for your mancave (garage for me).
