You can remove the deck, yeah I know fun job, and then slice open the hull at the strip edges, re-glue and re-glass the stern then add the deck again. Lots of work.

You don't have to cut open every strip btw, just enough to reshape the hull back to normal. Probably will want then to paint the hull because the colors won't match anymore.
