This goes against my grain but I am looking for some decent, cheap paddles.
I teach a class every year on kayak building at a School. One of the few demands they place on me is that the builders need to take a paddle home. We don't have time to build one in the class, so I have to furnish it. In the past I have thrown together something to get them on the water. I always explain that they will want to upgrade to a better paddle.
The builders usually have some experience kayaking, some have their own gear and don't need a paddle. Others have just rented and have nothing. I never know in advance and last year only one student even kept the paddles I took. So this year I am looking at just buying some inexpensive paddles and I don't want to furnish junk but i can't buy a bunch for good paddles either.
So I am looking for some recommendations. Since I build my own GP's I don't pay much attention to commercial paddles. Anyone offer any recommendations?
