yeah, thats the problem with DIY plastic stuff...gets pricey fast.

I found a decently priced altenative thats made for this, but it aint cheap either.

I did a little poking around on the net- seems cedar water looks bad, but is okay to drink. Old sailing ships used to take it on voyages, cuz it would stay fresher longer. So...cedar might actually be a good alternative.
