Thanks all for the kind words.
Mike, Good advice and I will try some of the ideas...though I vow this is the last kayak I will build :)
I did two coats of stain but mixed with water due to being in my basement. I am happy with the stain but it is tricky to keep all the little imperfections out with S&G.
