I had my shop in my basement for a long time. The epoxy is not a problems. Any fumes from epoxy are heavy and stay down stairs.

You should consider getting some dust collection. Breathing wood or epoxy dust (inside, outside, wherever) is probably more dangerous than the epoxy fumes.

You can use a relatively inexpensive shop vac from HomeDepot or similar. They work very well and are useful to have around the house when you aren't boat building. Get some smaller hose to connect to your sander.

Dust collection is really worthwhile. It keeps you healthy and your shop and home cleaner.
