In Response To: Strip: filling gaps? (Rob)

Finishing up the hull and have found a number of gaps between strips, mostly along the keel.
I've been working on filling them with thin strips but don't seem to be having much luck doing a good job.
Is there a trick to this? Am I being too anal?

Rob

If I have gaps which can't be filled with wood slivers, I use Dunham's Water based wood filler. Available at big box stores.

It is easy to mix, easy to sand and quick setting. The "natural" color blends well with light colored woods.

Since it's mixed with water I use artist's acrylic paints to match darker colored woods.
