I mainly paddle on the DC portion of the Potomac River, which often has some pretty decent waves--so a spray skirt is a must for me. But you're right; I haven't seen any large enough in the looking around I've done so far. A poncho with a bungee cord would probably be nerding up too much, even for me.

Fortunately, I have the good old Coho as my regular boat. I plan to re-varnish her scratches once the water is too cold for me to step into when getting into the boat--probably next month. Then I may spend the winter refinishing the "loon" boat. Don't know if I'll find many buyers, given the low deck. (Anyone here have super-tiny feet? Have I got a boat for you!)

That said, sometimes I bend my knees a little while in the Coho, just to give my feet a rest. Maybe I can cut two holes in the deck for my toes to stick through. Would that be weird? I'll already be rocking that poncho as a spray skirt, so I might as well go whole-hog.
