I set up a demo of homebuilt kayaks at a local church Fall Festival.
Went fairly well, I had a steady stream of people actually wanting to talk kayaks.
One the consistent draws was getting kids in the boat to "paddle in the dirt" with parents taking a picture.

My question: how could I support the kayak to give a little freedom of movement, giving them the feel that they were not solid ground.
The only thing I can think of is a pad of minicell foam. Plenty of support, it won't be tipping over, but it might give a little wiggle.

You can see a Yost 15 in white, another with the skin stripped for re-skinning, a Laughing Loon North Star Biadarka, and the tool for a Guillemot Great Auk 14. I also had the Auk 14 plans on a easel.
