Almost done stripping the hull of my first strip build and thinking of going staple-less on the deck. How long do I have to wait for the glue to dry before removing the clamps and tape to add the next strip? The boat is long and skinny (Wahoo FSK) so the strips won't have a lot of bend. I am in a warm climate and using Tightbond II. Thanks.

Hi Mark,

Great to see you progressing on the Wahoo. You'll be on the water before you know it!

With the smooth deck lines, staple-less construction works very well on the Wahoo. I also use small dabs of hot glue in lieu of staples. I fit my strip, apply my glue and then place a bit of hot glue between the form and the strip. In between forms I hold the strips to each other with pieces of masking tape. Don't pull tight with the masking tape as you can distort the surface. The green tape is stretchy and holds well. Tan paper tape blends in with the wood/glue if you forget to remove it. The forms also are easy to knock out with light hammer taps. It's quite quick and you don't need to wait for the TBII to dry.
