The choice depends on the final paint color as 410 isn't great under dark surfaces.

That's important advice for any boat that might get seriously hot in the sun - the plastic filler in 410 will break down if it gets hot enough. I don't know if it's an issue with the thicknesses of fairing compound we put on kayaks, but worth keeping in mind.
It's generally not a problem in the PNW/BC unless the boat is on the roof rack on a rare hot and sunny day, but I usually mix the 410 with something a bit more 'robust' when making up fairing compound, just adding enough 410 to make the sanding easier. (410 is expensive as well....)
