In Response To: Skin-on-Frame: "comfortable" sof designs? (Rich Wagner)

I recently rebuilt a Yost 17 and gave it about 3" more knee room at the front end of the cockpit.
Made it much easier to get in for my 64 years.
If you Are willing to reskin the boat it did not take much work.

The picture is an in work shot showing the difference looking from the bow to the stern.

Of course this might not be all you were concerned about. Do you think it would work for you?
The extra knee room goes from the bottom of the original frame to the bottom of the new lamination. The old frame (1/2" ply) and the Block to modify the shape are both cut out when you have the new lamination bonded in place.
The new lamination is actually stifferer than the old ply frame. (must have been too thick!).
