I have the same problem with some of my boats, straight out legs aren't as comfy as they once were. Actually just a longer keyhole shaped cockpit helps much because you can change your leg position occasionally. Fairly easy to make the cockpit bigger on an existing boat without having to recover it. Just have to carefully disassemble the existing coaming and add a bigger one.

The Yost boats are pretty skinny so adding more padding to the seat usually isn't a great idea since it reduces the stability. Padding the keel and sitting on the skin really isn't uncomfortable if the water isn't really cold. Though a little bit of thickness of foam will minimize the cold transfer to your butt.

For the back, the best thing is to get used to sitting upright without a back rest, bad posture while paddling causes more discomfort than trying for a comfortable backrest.
