BTW Mac ... if ya can it's always nice to paddle a design in which we don't exceed any of the design parameters ... but when it comes to performance designs ... this sinkage thing ... that's the lay of the land for anyone who is our size. Our CG's are often higher, we sink the hull ... so we suffer a little less stability, a little higher drag, a little reduced turning ability, tight foot room ... maybe some other stuff too. It's just part of the package deal for guys our size. OTOH ... it's not really that big a deal in the end ... we adapt and we learn how to compensate for this stuff ... and if you learn the water and how to paddle well ... trust me ... you'll be no slouch on the water no matter what ya paddle!
