That attitude exactly reflects my own.
But there is a sail system which is similar in size, which carries a pair of leeboards (but very non traditional) on a mechanism which allows you to deploy the sail (on a track) and the leeboards.
The leeboards are positioned where you would expect for sailing with respect to the sail - just aft of the CP.
I've never seen one in person but it looks pretty good, if you get over the fact that the entire system is very far forward.
