I think sanding is probably your best bet. I have found with Kevlar that if you keep going to finer grit sandpaper that it will reduce the fuzz. If you then skim coat it with epoxy to bond the exposed fibers before another final sanding, you can pretty much eliminate the fuzz for a good final finish.

When sanding Kevlar surfaces I've had good luck treating random threads that get exposed with thin CA ("super") glue. It wicks into the fibers and helps stop the fuzzing. The final skim coat is an excellent trick. Also hand sanding (especially wet with silicon carbide paper) seems to create less fuzz than power sanding.
