It shouldn't be hard.
take a mold off a foam seat.
put a strip on edge and fit to mould by cutting out contour;
perhaps start in the middle and work to the outsides.
place strip next to it and repeat and glue together,
and so on until all the mould is covered.
Seperate from mould and sand smooth.
Add a wooden rim piece to the top edge of the seat wide enough to fit the curves and trim to shape to get sufficient height.
I think Nick has made a seat along these lines before of contrasting woods. It looked beautiful.
