Thanks everyone. Allan, I red the link and it seems I am on the right track, thanks. I still have time to get a good plan together.

Bill, great article by lee valley, thanks. I did not know soft wood was not a good wood to bend. It seems I can build a steam box for little money. I will reference back to this article to build my steam box. The steam box is the way to go.

Bill you said to use hardwoods because you can use thinner strips as well. How thin could I take my strips down without compromising strength? I am thinking of maple, I have some laying around.
