I never wear one with epoxy when laminating but I keep the shop at a negative pressure so most problem gasses are evacuated from the air. Need to provide a supply of fresh air for this to work. I work with HVAC so this is pretty normal stuff for me.

Good idea to wear one when sanding though, the fine particles are easy to breath in. don't want that in your lungs.
