I need to laugh reading this. The first time I took my late wife kayaking on the south fork of the St Lucie River, I told her we will see alligators. She was convinced i was just trying to scare her, and didn't really take me seriously. We went around a bend, and there was a huge 'gator on the river bank. All of a sudden it launched itself into the river, greating a big wave that really "rocked the boat". All my wide eyed wife could say was "I thought you were kidding".
