You know a much easier way to make this wood seat would be to make a glass mold from the steel seat, and laminate the wood seat from veneer strips over that mold. Veneer should take the curves pretty easily. Basically making your own plywood, shaped like a tractor seat. Running one layer one way, the next layer the opposite way, etc.
