I've built (and use) a couple of Bjorn's designs (Frej, Panthera) and like them a lot.
Both of those boats are in the same 'family' as Njord, it seems to me. (Bjorn can explain further, I'm sure.)

Notes about length - with Bjorn's designs, the plan sheets make it clear that the length can easily be altered by changing the form spacing. And those boats are quick - my Frej is noticeably quicker than other 16' LOA boats I paddle with (longer WL) but the rocker makes it very maneuverable as well.

Also, if you are learning to roll, the low back deck (Frej, Njord, Panthera, etc.) is a big help with layback rolls, though construction is a bit of a challenge.

I've had small cockpit boats (Outer Island, which I later modified to a keyhole cockpit (and then sold), and a 'Greenland'-ish S&G boat (also sold)) and I'll never paddle one again. Lots of opinions on that topic...
