The blocks that hold the back rest straps in place, are those blocks just held into place with just epoxy? Or are they glassed over too? The same goes for the wood upright. Just glue or glass and epoxy?

I prefer fiberglass plus epoxy. Epoxy should be enough, but a little belt-and-suspenders never hurt.
