Re: Strip: Petrel pre-build research
In Response To: Strip: Petrel pre-build research (Howard Spira)
Howard,
My first Petrel weighs in at 33 pounds. The hull when completed weighed 9 pounds w/o glass. I used 1/8" cedar strips and 6 ounce glass throughout. I used 2" kevlar tape on the inner hull to deck seam. I didn't do anything fancy in terms of epoxy usage. I am not terribly careful with this boat and it has held up great. This includes 2 trips around Manhattan and various poundings in the Hudson.
