I used S-glass coated with Volan on my Night Heron. I mixed a custom dye color and dyed the hull. I worked really hard getting it just right. I did sample panels and clear-coated it with the stuff I was going to use, then when I glassed the color was just wrong. When I squeegeed out the excess it came out a sickly green color, and it was imparted to the finished product. The boat is still attractive, but I spent a lot of time and wasn't aware that it would change things significantly. I think if you were putting it on wood that had not been dyed and would darken over time it might not be such a big deal. Just my experience.
