I'll let Mr. HotGlue handle the big questions, but I have found these little needle nozzles to be handy for inserting a small drop of glue under strips while the strip is nearly touching the form. http://www.glu-stix.com/shop/page/product_detail/Product/b546f5506e5d58025f59da9f24e4b63d.html

If you want, the brass tube can be curved to make access even easier and I squeezed the tip of mine flat to make it even smaller.
