How long do you plan on being a beginner? You are a young, ambitions, strapping young man to be sure. The Sea Bee is a boat for absolute beginners to use poking around on still water. It may seem like a good idea to build a boat like that, but you need to balance how long you will be a beginner with how long it takes to build a new kayak. You will outgrow the kayak's capabilities in short order, and then you will be forced to make the decision whether you want to continue to poke around, or if you want your skills to progress. If you want your skills to progress, then you will need to buy or build a new kayak. So instead of building a kayak for absolute beginners on quiet water, build a kayak with some capabilities. Even in that kayak you will only be a beginner for a short time. If you feel you want some "experience" first, borrow or rent a kayak a couple of times, or to be honest- buying a box-store rec boat will cost the same as, or considerably less than building a kayak, and it takes a lot less time too. All it will take is a time or two out in a rec boat and you will be ready for something better. So, build something better.
