Make your fore and aft bulkheads using the closest stations to make cardboard templates.

Scribe and fit the cardboard to fit the location and shape of deck and hull. Make your permanent bulkheads from these.

I put a 45˚ bevel on one side of the bulkheads to allow micro adjustments with a plane during final installation and give a good bit for your fillet.

Install these before joining deck and hull and these should keep the hull shape true.

I have used closed-cell foam for bulkheads on my first two boats with good results, and not much difficulty fitting them and sealing with 3M sealant. I got onto this from Nick's book. Years ago I used to white-water paddle canoes and can't tell you how many rocks I landed on, so I'm a little overly cautious regarding durability.

I have the deck and hull strapped and taped together now while I finish the deck work. It was only out by an inch or so and I was able to put them together without too much persuasion.
