You can definitely make them from strips. The cockpit recess is simple, it is basically flat, but the recess back needs bending fairly sharply. You can either build it in situ rather like the cockpit rim from short strips, or make a flat panel, fibreglass one side only and then cut it out and bend it with the fibreglass on the outside of the bend.
