I am trying an experiment. I tried this stuff on re coats on a couple of boats. No good boat builder would ever consider it because it is cheap, water based, satin finish, and you can get it in a big box store. In the past I have used epifanes and system 3. It also comes in gloss and in oil based. I put it on 2 kayaks that stay car topped on my daughters car most of the season. If it can survive the sun and my daughter both for a summer I will probably keep using it. It is absolutely clear, it goes on very nice, levels nice, it is harder than the other finishes I have used (and a little slicker when you are handling the boat). I just kept my foam brush in a plastic bag and did 4 coats on 2 boats with the same brush. It dries in 2-3 hours for re coating and in about 30 minutes for handling so you could easily keep flipping a boat and do 4 coats on the deck and 4 coats on the hull in one day. Wait another 5-6 months and I will give you a report on a real world test.
