Hi all-
This post may be considered commercial, so feel free to remove it if necessary. One of the premiere Qajaq USA training events in the Great Lakes is Qajaq TC, which takes place near Frankfort, Michigan. It's at Camp Lookout on a little bit of dune between Lake Michigan and Lower Herring Lake. There's no road access- it's paddle in, although there is a pontoon boat to shuttle bulky items. Word is that there are a couple of spots still open for this year.
As if a paddle-in camp on Lake Michigan with no road access weren't enough of a draw for a Greenland Kayaking event, I'll be doing a workshop on making custom-sized neoprene paddling mitts. Here's a writeup on the mitt project, which is on the web site with registration information. My daughter took a photo of me modeling one of the mitts that turned out cool, so if nothing else you can check that out.
