Hi Marc,

I like Rob's designs, though I've only built one, the Disko Bay. I've got no direct experience with the two you mention.

Any of the Great Lakes can be ok in good weather and can be scary if the weather changes, Lake Erie especially due to it being so shallow. I lived outside of Cleveland, OH for many years and was born in Buffalo, NY, so have a bit of experience with that lake.
