Just a reminder when you are paddling in your favorite places help pick up after others that don't seem to understand the impacts of litter. For some reason Western and Clark's Grebes are the birds I most often find entangled in trash, usually fishing line. I find about 5 a year sometimes they are dead, other times they are so exhausted it is unlikely they will live. Some I can free and they seem to do OK. This poor guy will probably never get this rubber belt off of it's neck. By the time he has depleted his energy enough to catch he will probably be beyond the ability to regain health.
