I originally bought the CLC skeg kit for it for my wife's Frej, but for cosmetic reasons decided not to use it on her boat (I am installing it in my Chesapeake 17LT instead). The CLC design is basically a box that extends through both the hull and deck of the kayak. An okoume cap is used on top the deck to cover the cut in the deck. This looks fine on an okoume boat but not so much on a strip build. I suppose that I could have built some kind of a strip cap but I did some more looking and found the Kayak-Sport kit (http://watercraft.clearstreamwood.com/shop/ks-retractable-plastic-skeg-system-pro-complete/). It was a bit more expensive but was easy to install and does not extend through the deck. The other advantage is that unlike the CLC kit, it can be completely installed prior to joining the hull and deck. With the CLC kit, you have to filet the box in place after joining which requires you to work through the aft hatch. Here are some picts of the Kayak Sport installation on the Freg.
