if you study the plans you will see that the chine lines and the sheer line are on top of one another basically from section 8 through 13.

so the filler/cheater strips come into play from the boat ends to those those sections and the sheer line and chine line are basically parallel to one another between sections 8 through 13. so i laid down a sheer strip first. then put my next strip strip (the chine strip) immediately adjacent to the sheer strip and they abutted one another between sections 8 thru 13. all the other strips below the chine line were parallel/abutted that strip.

as for above the chine line strips/cheater strips...i did everything parallel to the chine line. that said, there are some other patterns that can be used....but i thought parallel to the chine was the best looking.
