I had lots of problems on the finish of my first build (Guillemot) and am considering sanding it down at the end of the season and attempt to fix some of the visual blemishes.
My first problem was on the shear where the 3", 6 oz glass tape did not go very transparent. I used carbon fiber on the hull and it is hard to discern where the deck, which is covered in 6 oz S-glass, and the hull are joined. It looks like what I call "ghosting"
On my second build I used 4 oz standard glass on the shear, and it was better but still showed somewhat over the carbon.
My other problem is the yellow/greenish tint that I have over the shear areas now after varnishing. I used Petit Captain's Varnish.
Is this yellow/greenish tint because of using West epoxy, Petits varnish, or a combination of both?
