Hi all, haven't been on the forum lately I'm recovering from triple bypass surgery but mending well. I have a problem and hope someone has the answer; since I was not kayaking I loaned my kayak(a Night Heron) to a friend for about 3 weeks. When he returned it he said he lost control while loading it on his car and it fell off the top of the car and hit a rock which put a large dent in it,he thought that the wood was cracked so he covered the area with clear silicone calk. His intentions were good and I know that things happen and not on purpose, I have tried everything to get that crap off the area so I can do a proper repair and hope some one has a method because I know that nothing will allow epoxy and varnish to stick.
