There are several caulk remover products, and they work well. However- I'm not sure how the wood, if exposed, would react because they're liquid. Wood does nothing better than soak up liquid. Ditto any cleaning product that would dissolve the caulk because the slurry it creates would still have silicone, only in diluted form. I'd almost think that would be worse. Unsightly as it may be, is there any way to cut under the caulk and remove it that way?
