I have to say that for the most part I agree with Jay- the labor involved in stripping the glass and redoing it probably isn't worth the intense effort a project like this will need. With a few exceptions, all the boat needs to be in top shape are some touch-ups. I noted those below. It also needs new varnish- it looks like UV as taken its toll. I would say to just do the touch ups, and if you don't like they way they look and the way the fractured glass looks, maybe paint is a good option. You won't see this stuff any more, and it won't bug you so you can go back to having fun paddling. BUT- if you're a perfectionist- strip away, sand a lot, re-glass, and re-varnish-

LoonYak 013.jpg is a spot of delimitation. You need to cut out the glass here and make a repair with new glass or it will continue to spread. I'd slice around the circle with a utility knife then feather the edges back, glass in a patch, and sand it smooth. LoonYak 019.jpg is the same sort of issue, but it looks like LoonYak 007.jpg, where it's been knocked off by abrasion. These spots need fresh glass.

Areas like LoonYak 016.jpg are fractured glass, where there has been stress put on the hull. It doesn't really effect strength appreciably in our applications- it's not an airplane- but it does look kind of bad. The thing is- replacing the glass is a lot of work, and it's going to happen in your new glass too.

LoonYak 003.jpg Is just a dent. It doesn't look very structural, although the place you need to worry about damage from something like this is on the inside. I'd say it's inconsequential.

LoonYak 011.jpg This needs to be fixed- I would put a layer of glass underneath, then fill with epoxy from above- just pour it in until it sits level on the top, and then put some kind of support under the raw edge there, either a piece of 1/2x3/4 wood glued to the bottom and then maybe glassed over- but definitely support those strips. They can't handle the stress there. If you're going to paint, glass underneath and fill the crack with thickened epoxy.
