Hello all,

My wife and I are building a Pygmy Pinquino and we have a finishing/epoxy question. We are sanding our finished boat to apply varnish, and the epoxy has a mottled appearance as you can see in the photo of a hatch cover that I linked below. I had sanded using an ROS with 80, 120, and 220 grit paper. If I wet the surface with water to simulate the varnished finish, I can still see the mottled area although it is much less noticeable. Any ideas what caused this? Is there anything that we can do now about it?
