I'm 57 now & was, working on a short one too. That's why I responded so fast to your first post. I stopped working on it but I think you have inspired me to take it up again. Of course its going to be a Little Auk. I love the shape. Going to be 12' & the Auk is like 28" wide so speed is not going to be there, but paddling into coves & fly fishing toward the shore is the purpose. So the cockpit will be long enough to have fishing poles behind me & room in front to work with the fishing gear. ( & get my old butt in & out of the boat.) And, being small enough to lift it to the roof of the car at the end of the day...
